Accreditation and Proficiency Testing for a DNA laboratory is very important. Sorenson Genomics works hard to maintain an excellent reputation for providing reliable DNA testing services. The following are some of the activities and accreditations the laboratory participates in.

AABB Accreditation
The AABB Relationship Testing Accreditation Program is based on standards for the performance of tests for parentage and other relationships and provides for the assessment and accreditation of laboratories performing relationship testing. Sorenson Genomics has been accredited since December 11, 2003.

ISO 17025:2005
ISO is a network of national standard institutes from 148 countries working in partnership with international organizations, governments, industry, business and consumer representatives. In October 2006, Sorenson Genomics received its accreditation for all its DNA testing products and services including Forensic Casework.

Proficiency Testing Programs
Sorenson Genomics participates in the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Paternity, Forensic ID, and mtDNA proficiency testing. |

The NIST Biotechnology program is to advance the commercialization of biotechnology by developing the scientific/engineering technical base, reliable measurements, standards, data and models to enable U.S. industry to quickly and economically produce biochemical products with appropriate quality control. Sorenson Genomics utilizes the NIST Biotechnology standard reference materials for DNA testing. |
