Accreditation and Proficiency Testing for a DNA laboratory is extremely important. Sorenson Genomics works hard to maintain an excellent reputation for providing reliable DNA testing services. The following are some of the activities and accreditations in which the laboratory participates.

AABB Accreditation
The AABB Relationship Testing Accreditation Program is based on standards for the performance of tests for parentage and other relationships and provides for the assessment and accreditation of laboratories performing relationship testing. Sorenson Genomics/Identigene has been accredited since December 11, 2003.

ISO 17025:2005
Sorenson Genomics/Identigene also maintains ISO17025 accreditation for DNA testing and analysis. L-A-B Accredited Certificate # L2201 Testing.

Proficiency Testing Programs
In addition to laboratory accreditations for DNA paternity testing, Sorenson Genomics also particpates in proficiency testing programs designed to improve standards and practices among genetic testing laboratories and businesses:
Proficiency Testing. Sorenson Genomics uses the College of American Pathologists proficiency testing services for relationship testing verification and DNA genotyping. |

NIST Traceability. Sorenson Genomics uses NIST Standard Reference Materials for DNA Analysis to ensure consistent results.
