Sorenson Genomics has developed extensive
experience in the area of DNA extraction and purification.
This experience comes from years of testing and validating
different DNA extraction methods to ensure recovery of DNA
that is of the highest quality and quantity. Our DNA extraction
experience ranges from recovering DNA from highly degraded
bone and teeth fragments to processing high volume blood,
mouthwash or buccal cell extractions for the purpose of
clinical or pharmacogenomic trials. Some of our preferred
methods are shown below. Product pricing varies depending
on the size and scope of the project.
DNA extraction, purification, qualification
and quantification.
Specimen types routinely tested:
• Buccal swabs
• Whole blood
• Blood spots on FTA paper
• Mouthwash
• Tissue
• Plasmid isolates
• Forensic specimens including hair, bone, teeth
etc. often associated with missing persons or disaster
victim identification.
Methods of DNA extraction and purification:
• QIAGEN robotic HT blood or buccal
cell.
• QIAGEN manual large volume blood.
• Gentra Autopure large volume blood or mouthwash.
• QIAGEN EZ-1 forensic specimen extraction.
DNA purity and quantitation analysis:
• Standard spectrophotometry
• Low volume spectrophotometry (2 -10 uL input volume)
• Fluorometric analysis using pico green.
Purified DNA can be provided to our clients
in cryovial tube, standard 96 well microtiter plates, .5
mL deep well 96 well plates and 1.2 mL deep well 96 well
plates. DNA can be normalized to a specific concentration
to meet the needs of the client’s particular project.
